SDSU Women's Studies

Curriculum

Today, graduate students may choose a formal international emphasis, and undergraduates are encouraged to select courses with a central focus on women in other societies:

  • WS310 Women in Cross-Cultural Perspective
  • WS331 Women in Asian Societies
  • WS340 Women in Modern European History
  • WS512 Latinas in the Americas
  • WS530 Women’s Movements and Activism
  • WS 580 Women, Development and the Global Economy
  • WS581 Women’s Experiences of Migration

All Women’s Studies students are encouraged to participate in programs in other countries. Currently, Tanya Bakhru is a student in a PhD program in Women’s Studies in University City, Dublin; and Cristina McCauley is enrolled in an MA program in Peace Studies at Trinity College in Dublin. Charleen Tran received her undergraduate degree in Women’s Studies at SDSU, and is now in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic
