Project Description:

This class will give you a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about programs that support the economic development of women and their communities in Mexicali, Mexico. The program we will be working with, called Los Niņos, aims to develop communities by empowering and supporting women. In addition to general projects like building schools and playgrounds, they offer microcredit, classes in ecology and nutrition, and scholarships to women.

We will be in Mexicali for five days (Wed-Sun) and four nights. Each day our agenda will be planned by Los Niņos and will include working with the community, visiting other development and social service organizations, and experiencing daily life in Mexicali. You will have the opportunity to learn by working side by side with community members.
