Shaun works at the YWCA of Minneapolis, both as a coach and working to create a new Racial Justice department. She is pursuing an M.A. in teaching at Hamline University. Robin is pursuing a Masters in Library and Information Science at the University of Arizona Dawn Comeau "Lesbian Co-Mothers: Fighting for Identity" (Spring 2000). Dawn is enrolled in the doctoral program in Women's Studies at Emory University. Tammi Neuscheler "Faith, Feminism and the Father: Defining a Christian Feminist Identity" (Spring 2000). She will pursue a career in nonprofits in the Washington, D.C. area. Maricela DeMirjyn "Arte y Terapia con Latinas: Treatment for Domestic Violence" (Spring 2000). Marci has completed her Ph.D. program at UC Santa Barbara and has is now a professor at Mankato, MN. Janet Lorenzen "Bisexuality: Politics, Social-Sexual Boundaries and the Search for Postmodern Identity" (Spring 2000). She is pursuing a job in marketing in the Minneapolis area. Sarah Tillery "From Carnival Freak to Fashion Model: The Materialization of the Thin Female Body and the Abjection of Fat" (Spring 2000). Sarah is enrolled in the Ph.D. program in Women's Studies at University of Maryland, College Park. Anna Andrade "A Language of Thunder and Yearning: Searching for Paradigms in Discourses on Butch-Fem" (Spring 2000). Anna is working on a second M.A. in history at SDSU with an eye towards teaching at the community college level. Jessica Simmons "Diasporic and Sexual Identity: A Fragmented Sense of Self in Jamaica Kincaid's 'Lucy and Michelle Cliff's No Telephone to Heaven'" (Spring 2000). Jessica has accepted a position in the Teach for America program. Andrea Dottolo "Negotiating the Development of Feminist Identity from Psychological and Postmodern Perspectives" (Spring 2000). Andrea is enrolled in a Ph.D. in Personality Psychology and Women’s Studies at the University of Michigan. Denise Martin "Confronting the Black Church and Developing Methods for Change: A Women's Approach to Violence against Black Women" (Summer 2000). Denise is studying law at Seattle University School of Law Dawn Cicero "Passing the Talking Stick: American Indian Women's Voices Heard" (Fall 1999). Dawn is Executive Director of ATHENA, a grant writing agency. Jennifer Marie Esquivel-Parker "Reflections: Tracing the Patterns of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's Feminist Legal Thought" (Summer 1999). Dana Semone "Dear Emily: A Children's Story Featuring the Visual and Discursive Works of the Canadian Artist Emily Carr" (Summer 1999). Dana has moved to Vancouver, British Columbia and will earn a Canadian teaching credential. Tiffany Worboy "Feminist Perspectives on in-vitro Fertilization" (Summer 1999). She is in a Ph.D. program in Women's Studies at Emory University in Atlanta. Beverly Yuen Thompson "Transgressing the Socially Constructed Boundaries of Race and Sexual Identity: Bisexual and Multiracial Asian/Pacific Islander Women in the Monoculture" (Spring 1999). She entered a Ph.D. program at the New School University and is Project Manager on a research project that looks at the impact of welfare reform on people of color in Harlem and the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Melanie Green "Empowered Voices: Lesbians, Eating
Problems, and Homophobia" (Spring 1998). She is Director of Gay Youth
Services Program through a community center in San Francisco. Christy Stevens "Lesbian Intertextuality in Jeannette Winterson's Written on the Body" (Spring 1998). Christy is a Ph.D. candidate in Literature at UC Irvine. Kendall Morgan "Listening to the Sounds of Sexual
Harassment: Applying Feminist Qualitative Research to Visual Practice"
(Spring 1997). She received her MFA from Columbia in filmmaking and is
an independent film producer. |
