An appreciative survey of cinema in its diverse forms. Historical and stylistic influences on the aesthetic values and social implications of cinema. Illustrated by screen examples.
TFM 250. Staging and Art for TV and Film (3). 2 lectures and 3 hours of activity. Prerequisites: TFM 122 or 123; drama majors with design for television emphasis must have approval of the emphasis adviser. Principles of film technique and theory. Focus on director's work in relation to cinematographer, sound designer, editor, producer.
