"Human Rights and Social Memory: The Dilemma of Political "Reconciliation."
A research project on comparative public policy in Chile and other
parts of Latin America, on the impact of human rights violations under
military regimes. Research is being done in collaboration with Elizabeth
Lira, a Chilean social psychologist well known for her innovative
therapy for the treatment of torture victims and her research on political
violence. Grant funding for this project was obtained from the Ford
Foundation and the Chilean National Science Foundation (Fondecyt).
