Colleagues,
MALAS has some of the most eclectic graduate
students in the college. I am just getting to know
them and I can tell you that their curiosity is
voracious and their backgrounds as diverse as
any I have seen in any program.
If you are teaching a course, 500-level and
above this Spring 2010, and are interested in
having our students know about it, don't
be shy about zapping me a course description
so that I can pass word of it along to them--
while MALAS students take four seminars
in the MALAS program, the balance of their
coursework is drawn from the wealth that CAL
and the University have to offer.
For those of you new in the College, MALAS
is the Master of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences
program in the College of Arts and Letters.
If you were trained or have an interest
in interdisciplinary studies, let me know so
that I can add you to our listed core faculty;
if you want to help plan the future of MALAS,
let me know as well as I am trying to put
together a steering committee.
Have a great day,
Bill Nericcio
