The mission of the Arabic program is to provide proficiency-based teaching
of the Arabic language and culture, in order to foster knowledge and understanding of the Arabic-speaking world. The program focuses on ESA (Educated Spoken Arabic), and offers three years of Arabic language, other courses in special topics, and a minor in Arabic.
