- Liberal Studies Orientation: The next Liberal Studies Orientation for continuing students who have not attended a Freshman or Transfer Student Liberal Studies Oreintation upon starting at SDSU, or those interested in changing majors, will be held on Friday, August 22, 2-4 pm at Hepner Hall, Room 222. This orientation is free.You must attend this orientation prior to see a Liberal Studies adviser. No reservation is necessary. Iif you are unable to attend this time, you may place yourself on a future notification list by emailing dparham@mail.sdsu.edu.
- Scholarship Opportunities. The Neva and Ralph Smith Scholarship is open (the application period is August 11, 2008 to February 2, 2009). The Scholarship value is $2,000. Please see Neva and Ralph Smith Scholarship for more information. Other scholarship opportunities are available at http://www.sa.sdsu.edu/scholarship/ The financial aid and scholarships web page has been updated with new information which you may find of interest.
- Music 102 Challenge Examination will be held on September 6, 2008 at 9 am in Room M229, second floor of the the Music and Dance Building. For more information, please dowload the flier on the examination or Handouts page.
- Student Fulbright: the grant applications are due September 22, 2008, by 4 pm, to the Scholarship Office. - DUS Study Abroad Incentive Scholarships. Applications Spring Semester 2009 and Winter/Spring break programs are due November 1, 2008. You may download a writeable application. - GEN S 130: Starting in fall 2007, students should select either Child and Family Development 170 or Teacher
Education 170 instead of GEN S 130. These are the same course, just new departments and number.
- Rhetoric and Writing Department's Drop-In Tutoring. The Rhetoric and Writing Department has drop-in tutoring available for all students, regardless of their major or type of project. It is first come, first served.
- Place: AH-3104
- Time: Mondays - Thursdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
- These days and times are effective from July 14-August 20, 2008.
- SDSU Credential program: Seniors applying to the SDSU Credential Program should apply for a Certificate of Clearance at least 7 months in advance. See the Certificate of Clearance letter and Applying for the Certificate of Clearance for more information. These documents are current as of May, 2008, but you are encouraged to check the College of Education webpage or check with their offices to be sure you have the most recent information.
SENIOR ASSESSMENT
LIB S 498:(2/27/07)
LIB S 498 now includes a capstone project, reflection and artifacts, and in-class essay.
Plan time to allow for serious writing during the first half of the semester in which you take LIB S 498.
