Roster
The Roster is a searchable list of the other students in your course. By clicking
on the name of a student in the roster you can access their Blackboard home
page (if they have created one for this course). Email addresses are not generally
listed in the roster, althought students may choose to make these visible.
Searching the Roster:
- Click into the content area where the Roster
link is kept (this varies from course to course, but is usually
the Communication area).
- Click the Roster link.
- Enter as much of either the last name or the username as you
can remember in the Search field.
- Click the Search button.
- A list of students in the course who match your search criterion
will appear.
Viewing the Complete Roster:
- Click into the content area where the Roster
link is kept (this varies from course to course, but is usually
the Communication area).
- Click the Search button without typing anything
into the Search field.
- The entire roster will be displayed, in groups of 25. You can
move to other pages by clicking on the page numbers at the bottom
of the screen.
Viewing Student Homepages:
- Click into the content area where the Roster
link is kept (this varies from course to course, but is usually
the Communication area).
- Locate the record of the student whose homepage you wish to
view using one of the above methods.
- Click on the students name to view the Homepage.
More Information
Q: I don't see the instructor or TA on the roster! Why not?
A: The roster only lists people who are enrolled as students.
Instructors, Teaching Assistants, Graders, Course Builders, and Guests are not
listed in the roster.
Q: Why do only some students have listed email addresses?
A: The email address is only visible if students set their
privacy settings to allow this.
