The Pacific Fellows Program is designed for promising professionals in the information industries in the Pacific Rim countries. The program is designed to underscore the importance of integrated, interactive, intercultural and international communications perspectives. It is also an intensive cultural orientation to American communication and life in the United States.

Because the Pacific is the world's fastest-growing telecommunications market, San Diego State University (SDSU) believes that business, governmental and instutional links between and among Asian and Pacific professionals are essential to genuine understanding, both professionally and culturally. It is expected that Pacific Fellows--whether they are here for a six-month or one-year program--will become lifelong participants in the greater Pacific Dialogue program, which is intended to bring the world's leaders from both government and industry together to solve some of the major public policy communications issues for the region.
