Biography


Feng Xiliang:

(Also known as C.L. Feng) B.A. in journalism, St. John's University in Shanghai (1943); M.A. in journalism, University of Missouri (1948); Graphic Art studies, Columbia University (1948-49).

World news editor, Beijing International News Agency (1950-52); managing editor, People's China, an English language magazine; international news editor, and deputy editor-in-chief of the weeky newsmagazine Beijing Review (1958-78). Member of the four-man commission for the founding of China's first English language newspaper, the China Daily (1978-1981); Managing Editor and First Deputy Editor-in- Chief of China Daily (1981-1984); Editor-in-Chief, the China Daily (1984- 1987).

Now Editor Emeritus and Special Advisor to China Daily; Chairman of the China Daily Distribution Corporation in New York; Member of the Advisory Board of the WINDOW newsmagazine in Hongkong. Member to the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the CPPCC, since 1986.
