Action Items

John Buettgen will coordinate a meeting of the CIO group to discuss the next steps to be taken. There are three potential areas of interest that he identified:

• Participation in the County's planned kiosk system
• Coordinating Web pge informtion and access
• Creating the minimum clinical dataset

John Eger summarized the question to be resolved is whether the group wants either San Diego Data Processing Corporation and/or the County Department of Information Services involved with the project.

Other Issues Identified:

Options Include:

• Getting insurance providers and suppliers to fund a University pilot project
• Develop a model based on the HDIC activity in a defined, regional San Diego format
• Continue developing projects similar to putting the All Kids Count information on the County's Web Page

Decisions need to be made in conjunction with health care provider budget timing.

Community concerns regarding confidentiality and security of health information need to be addressed up front. Brenda Robyn offered to share research into this issue already performed by the All Kids Count Project.
