Farid Mahdavi
Dr.
Farid Mahdavi received his Ph. D. from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison
in Middle Eastern and Islamic History, in May 2000. He has
also earned an M.A degree in History from the University
of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an M.A. in Political Science,
International Relations from the University of South Dakota,
Vermillion. While in Milwaukee, he also received an 18-month
Fellowship to study the languages of French and Spanish.
He received a B.A. in Political Science from Bemidji State
University (Bemidji, Minnesota) and a B.A. in Persian Literature
with a minor in Arabic Language from the College of Letters
and Foreign Languages, Tehran, Iran. His teaching experience
is divided into the fields of Islamic, Middle Eastern History
and World History including “Historical Perspectives
on Women of the Middle East,” “Historical Encounters:
Islamic Fundamentalism and the West,” “Historical
Roots of Contemporary Issues: The 1979 Iranian Revolution
and Islamic Fundamentalism,” and “Arab-Israeli
Relations: The Search for Peace.”
