HISTORY OF THE NINETEENTH-CENTURY UNITED STATES
History of the Nineteenth-Century United States. Rank open, beginning
August 2006. The Department of History at San Diego State University
seeks a historian of the United States in the Nineteenth Century.
Period and subject of specialization are open, but research interest
in political, social or economic history is preferred. Candidates
must be able to teach Civil War/Reconstruction. Candidates are
also expected to have: a commitment to teaching an ethnically,
culturally, and linguistically diverse student population; comparative,
cross-cultural, and interdisciplinary research and teaching methods;
and a willingness to teach surveys in United States History and/or
one of the department’s History for Teachers courses, as
well as undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of specialization.
