Numerous opportunities exist for study abroad at
SDSU. All students in French -- whether major, minor, graduate
undergraduate or simply those who take French for their own enrichment --
are strongly encouraged to make study abroad in a French speaking country
a part of their educational experience.
You
take courses at a university in France, Switzerland, or Canada, while
remaining enrolled and maintaining full resident status at SDSU. Regular
registration fees are paid at SDSU, and you may apply any financial aid
awards to your study abroad experience
Undergraduate:
Opportunities for semester and year long programs
are available in CSU approved programs for undergraduate students through
the SDSU Paris Semester, CSU-IP, and ISEP. Summer travel-study
programs are also available.
In general all units earned on
these programs are applicable to the BA and may fulfill major minor, or GE
requirements.
Graduate:
A number of options exist for graduate students.
They may study
in Aix-en-Provence (CSU-IP) or Paris (through MICEFA/CSU-IP) or on a year
long program and earn up to 12 units credit toward their MA.
They may participate in ISEP Programs (year or semester) and earn up to 9
units toward their degree.
They may also participate in the Paris Semester (especially recommended
for students wishing to work on an MA thesis) and earn up to 9 units.
Students doing their study abroad in France also have access to a
number of teaching opportunities.
