Academic
Interests I
developed and have worked to maintain the Athletic Training Emphasis into
a state of the art program. I hope to provide the student with the knowledge
and skills needed for the practice of Athletic Training in an evolving professional
health care environment. I have attempted to influence the Athletic Training
student in the development of a professional philosophy that will focus on
providing a scientific based, hands-on approach to the practice of Athletic
Training in the traditional setting. I am interested in encouraging Athletic
Training Accreditation students to consider attending Physical Therapy school
after attaining their Athletic Training education.
I am interested in exploring
and teaching the basis and practice of Therapeutic Exercise and Joint Mobilization
Techniques. Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation is my major area of
expertise in Therapeutic Exercise. I teach courses in PNF locally, nationally
and internationally. Prevention of Athletic Injuries is an area of interest
as well. I have also focused on Emergency Field Care of Athletic Injuries.
An additional interest is the medical effects of Athlete travel. I am active
in the research arena of Vestibular Physical Therapy and Myokinematic.
