Fall Admission Only                                  DEADLINE February 1st


The Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing offers Fall admission only and complete applications must be received no later than February 1.

Prospective students applying to the M.F.A. in Creative Writing program must submit various materials to three different places:

1. Online at http://www.csumentor.edu (university application and fee)

2. Graduate Admissions

3. Department of English and Comparative Literature

GRADUATE ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Students applying for admission should electronically submit the university application available at http://www.csumentor.edu along with the $55.00 application fee.

The following materials should be submitted as a complete package directly to:

--Official transcripts (in sealed envelopes) from all postsecondary institutions attended

--GRE scores (http://www.ets.org, SDSU institution code 4682)

--TOEFL score, if medium of instruction was in a language other than English (http://www.ets.org, SDSU institution code 4682)

NOTE: Please take your GRE exam at least six weeks before applying so that your scores will arrive by the above dates. To be considered for classified graduate standing, you must achieve a minimum of 550 on your verbal section and 1050 overall.

--A sample of creative work (15 poems or 30 pages of prose)

--A 750-1000 word statement of purpose
