Alumni
The Entrepreneurial Management Center is committed to keeping SDSU alumni connected to the university, supporting their entrepreneurial endeavors and facilitating their transition into the business community. The EMC also serves as a conduit which allows alums to mentor students and give back to their alma mater. The following programs are offered by the EMC to alums desirous of educational, networking and philanthropic opportunities.
EMC Emerging Growth Workshop
- The EMC Emerging Growth Workshop ensures optimal entrepreneurial development for member companies by providing educational tools and professional coaching to early stage, emerging growth and start-up businesses in the San Diego region.
- The EMC Business Forum was conceived to meet unique needs of local family and closely held business. This program offers events which are open to the public, as well as roundtable discussions and other services and events specifically for members.
- The SDSU Alumni Association Business Alumni Network (BAN) chapter partners with the EMC to offer entrepreneurial events, forums, and special activities targeted to those interested in starting or growing their ventures. (What about the Entrepreneurial Network?).
- The internship program places talented and motivated MBA students with entrepreneurial companies to work on strategic projects.
- Our Job Board, is available for recruiting students to fill open positions.
- Venture Challenge, the EMC’s annual international business plan competition, embodies the spirit of entrepreneurship while supporting aspiring student entrepreneurs. This signature EMC event offers many opportunities for alumni participation, including serving as a judge and attending various aspects of the event.
- The EMC connects alumni who are interested in serving as mentors with students looking for guidance and insight into starting companies or working for entrepreneurial businesses.
- Entrepreneurs-in-the-Classroom brings local, national, and international entrepreneurs, including alumni, into the classroom as guest speakers to share their experiences, offer insight, and discuss course concepts relevant to their backgrounds.
- The EMC connects alumni who are interested in serving as mentors with students looking for guidance and insight into starting companies or working for entrepreneurial businesses.
- Entrepreneur(s)-in-Residence places individuals with significant entrepreneurial experience in close proximity to graduate students and alumni for one or more semesters.
