The EMC Workshop has been specifically designed to address key issues faced by alumni-founded and San Diego-based firms and will provide educational tools and professional coaching for optimal entrepreneurial development to early stage, emerging growth, and start-up member companies.

CCAT Featured on Fox & Friends
The Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT), a unique EMC partnership designed to accelerate the development and application of advanced technologies, was recently featured on the Fox & Friends national morning news broadcast. Michael Elconin, Technology and Business Advisor for CCAT, flew to New York to present some of the latest technologies to come out of the CCAT project. The CCAT program partners the SDSU Research Foundation and EMC with UCSD's Jacobs School of Engineering and CONNECT, The Security Network, and the Navy's SPAWAR Systems Center to fast-track Department Of Defense, industry, and academic technologies into commercial and/or defense- related enterprises.

The EMC and Technology Transfer Office Host Graduate Student Mixer
 On Thursday, July 13th, The EMC co-hosted a graduate student mixer with the SDSU Tech Transfer Office. The event helped promote interaction among like-minded SDSU grad students interested in new ventures and showcased cross-campus educational and professional development opportunities. Over 75 guests from the SDSU Colleges of Science, Engineering & Business, the Tech Transfer Office, and the business community were on hand.

The EMC Business Forum will kick off its third year on Friday, August 25th with an informal dinner for Forum members and sponsors at Humphrey's By The Bay. The EMC is currently recruiting entrepreneurial host companies for paid MBA internships. Student interns typically work with senior management on strategic analysis-oriented projects, for 150 hours over the course of a semester.
