Executive Director
Sanford B. Ehrlich, Ph.D. is the QUALCOMM Executive Director of Entrepreneurship for the Entrepreneurial Management Center(EMC) at San Diego State University. The EMC is a privately-funded center associated with the College of Business Administration, where Dr. Ehrlich is also an Associate Professor of Management. Under his leadership, the EMC has been recognized among the top business schools for entrepreneurship by U.S. News and World Report and is a Nasdaq Center of Entrepreneurial Excellence.
His teaching, research, and consulting is focused on entrepreneur-investor relations, leadership and organization design of rapidly growing technology companies, and business plan development. Dr. Ehrlich's recent work, in conjunction with the Center for the Commercialization of Advanced Technology(CCAT), has been focused on technology entrepreneurship, particularly with respect to accelerating the development of products directed at homeland security and anti-terrorism. His publications have appeared in the Journal of Business Venturing, Organization Studies, Administrative Science Quarterly, Leadership Quarterly, the Academy of Management Journal, and the International Management Journal.
