Overview of the Industrial Assessment Center

San Diego State University's (sdsu) Industrial Assessment Center (iac) facilitates productivity improvements of small and medium-sized manufacturing facilities in San Diego through increased energy efficiency, waste minimization and operations efficiency.

Industrial Assessment 

Energy conservation, waste minimization, and productivity improvement services are offered by the SDSU Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) to significantly improve the energy efficiency, reduce waste generation, and enhance manufacturing performance of small to medium sized manufacturing companies, increasing their ability to effectively compete in the national and global marketplace. In addition, reducing energy consumption helps customers to avoid high demand charges. It also helps level Southern California utility peaking.

The IAC program has established a record of quality service that has cost-effectively improved the energy efficiency and performance of over 4000 manufacturing plants. The operational goal of the SDSU IAC is to provide both on-site and follow-up services in a timely and thorough manner that reflects the overall IAC record for quality and cost-effectiveness.
