Final Meeting of the Semester
Or, at least, I think it's the final meeting of the semester. Nobody tells me these things. I'm fairly certain nobody is going to schedule a meeting during Finals Week next week, so I'll go out on a limb and risk being wrong (What? You've never made a mistake in the Newsletter, Brian! Certainly not because you were misinformed!)
So, we'll be celebrating the 72nd Anniversary of Skull and Dagger today. It took 72 years to get this far...and about another month due to scheduling conflicts. But hey, when you've waited that long, what's another 30 days?
And don't forget, the winner of the Grand Prize of two tickets to Sea World for the most number of correct answers in the Trivia Contest will be revealed!
One Act Left
See...here's what I'm talking about. Nobody let me know that 1-800-GLAMOUR was canceled. Ah well. The One Acts were a great success. Good job all around. I shall be haunted by the memory of Annalisa Bastiani dueling tongues with Paul Morgavo. Thanks, folks!
And, we would like to give special thanks to those that helped make the One Acts a fabulous success:
The Box Office for selling our tix
The Costume Shop and 442B students for helping us
Alicia Annas
Peter Nordyke
Ardith Gray
Mark Anderson
Tal Osoriak
Loren Schreiber
And anybody else who was important but wasn't on the list Kelly gave me.
Portfolio: Harry Warren
Don't forget that the MFAs in Musical Theatre will be performing their Portfolio today at 5pm in the Don Powell. Professor O'Donnell has been taking his first sabbatical in what many consider ever to work on a new revue of material by Harry Warren? Who's Harry Warren? How can you not know who Harry Warren is? He only wrote some of the best popular and movie music of our time: "Jeepers Creepers," "I Only Have Eyes for You," "That's Amore," "The Lullaby of Broadway," "42nd Street," and much more! See the staged reading of this new work which we've worked so hard on.
Still to Audition
If you haven't signed up for an audition slot for any of the shows, An American Tragedy, Maids, Motherlove (or is it "Mother Love"? Every time I see it written, it changes), Waiting for Godot, or Rags, well...good luck finding one. There might still be spots left and you can always talk to the various directors if there aren't any.
Trivia Contest
Only two people entered this week, Tim Heitman and Martha Dalseth. The winner of this week's half-pound of coffee is Martha Dalseth! Get your prize from Patrick!
Oh! The quote! Yes, it was, indeed, from The Rocky Horror Show.
So who won the Grand Prize? Oh...alright...I'll tell you: Lisa Pomerantz! Six correct answers. She was hotly followed by Tim Heitman, who had five, and a trio of contestants with three: C.J. Keith, Martha Dalseth, and Tracy Hinman.
Thanks to everyone for entering when you could. Next semester, I'll be trying something a bit different...just you wait!
Good Luck on Finals, everyone! And have a great break!
