Lori Ryan’s research focuses primarily on the intersection of ethics and corporate governance, with a special emphasis on the roles, characteristics, and responsibilities of institutional and individual investors. She is currently also engaged in research into international distinctions among corporate governance systems.

Chamu Sundaramurthy’s current research focuses on the interface between governance and innovation, governance of family businesses and IPO firms. Her prior empirical and conceptual work examined the interrelationships among governance mechanisms (e.g., boards of directors), governance and strategic decisions of firms (antitakeover provisions; R&D investment), shareholder actions (repealing antitakeover provisions), and firm performance.
