Chinese 301
Policy on late homework: unless there is valid excuse, no late homework will be accepted. Doing the homework in time helps you prepare for the quiz. Skipping the homework (quite a few did this last time) counts almost as much as skipping a quiz.
Policy on drafts sent by email: I will alert you to problem areas but will not do a thorough correction. You are to go over the homework and make corrections yourself. Ignoring the feedback will not be looked upon favorably. When you email your drafts, please use either Njstar/word or plain text file and send it by attachment. DO NOT send it in the body of the email message.
Homework should be typed, unless specified otherwise! I strongly recommend the use of Njstar, as it has features beneficial to learning Chinese (dictionary, hanzi information, conversion to pinyin, conversion between and mixing of simplified and traditional characters). If you need help with getting or using Njstar, see the files online at: http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/dept/chinese/classmaterial.html. Go to www.njstar.com.au to download a free trial version. You can also use the full version in the language lab (BA 419).
Assignment 2
