1. Write a classified ad (no punctuations!). You can also use the classified ads in the reading packet for ideas on format and content. Handwrite a version with simplified or traditional style. Type the other version with a different style.

2. Write a product ad or service ad. You can incorporate pictures and use various artistic fonts. You can use the handout on ad language online for suggestions of advertising phrases. Handwrite a version with simplified or traditional style. Type the other version with a different style.

3. Find two ads either from the internet or on printed newspapers. Translate the ads into English and provide pinyin versions. Please be ready to share the ads with the class and comment on why you chose these ads.

4. Translate the Jianguo Hotel ad in the reading packet (e-file and annotations available online).
