maps of China
It is unfortunate that good dialect maps are hard to find on the
web. The ones I have found are not too
satisfactory. But here they are:
The best I could find is the following from Crystal, D. 1992’s
description of Chinese dialects. But I
had to do some doctoring to make the labels more legible. Click here

The following map has one mis-placed label (the Gan family

The
following map includes other languages spoken in and around China, but the Chinese
dialects are not as finely differentiated:
