MGT 401 PROJECT CONTRACT

Company Description

Briefly describe your company, what it does, and your position within the company.

Project Description and Deliverables

Briefly, describe your project, why you are doing it, and what deliverables you will provide to the organization. A good way to do this is to state in one sentence what you will do and what your deliverable will be when you are done. Then you can add supporting information.

Project Activities and Actions / Target Timeline

Note: In this section, state the specific activities and actions you will take to complete your project. Develop as many activities or actions as you need to complete the project. Your last action should most likely be to deliver the completed deliverable to your supervisor. Specify target dates for completing each activity and action, and the proof you will provide to demonstrate that you satisfactorily accomplished each activity and action.

1. Succinctly describe the Activity or Action 09/30/03
Add more description of the activity or action, your approach to completing it, and the evidence of completion.

2. An Example – Research industry competitors. 10/15/03

3. 10/15/03

4. 11/20/03

Note: List as many activities or actions as you need to complete your project.

Value added

Explain how your project adds value to your organization. To help clarify this value add, develop one clear sentence that describes what will be improved through the completion of your project. You can then add supporting information that further describes what will occur. The value must be specific, measurable, and verifiable, and lead to improvements in the organization. Consider near-term value add (within time frame of class) and long-term value add. You will be held accountable for at least one near-term value add in your final report. Identify something that you can implement and generate results to verify this near-term value add. Provide a clear statement of the evidence you will provide to prove your project added the value stated. You must be able to prove you have added this value.

Submit the contract when all the required signatures have been obtained. The instructor will then evaluate the acceptability of the proposed contract for three units of credit. If the proposed contract is approved, the instructor will sign it and return it to the designated pickup box. If it is rejected, the reasons for rejection will be annotated on the contract and the student will be given the opportunity to revise and resubmit the contract by the final due date.
