In answer to the apparent necessity to reframe the discipline of Literary and Cultural Studies in terms of its relationship to related disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, The Crisis Carnival conference has evolved over the years into a conference which welcomes interdisciplinary works (academic papers, creative writing, short films, etc.), from such diverse fields of inquiry as Anthropology, Asian Studies, Classics, Comparative Literature, Economics, English, French Studies, Geography, History, Latin American Studies, Liberal Arts, Linguistics, Native American Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Religious Studies, Rhetoric and Composition, Sociology, Women's Studies, and various other disciplines in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
