Captain Chad C. Collins

CPT Chad Collins was commissioned in May 2001 as an Armor Officer from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK. Upon commissioning he attended the University of Oklahoma’s College of Law where he earned a Juris Doctor and was admitted to the state’s bar. After completing his civilian education 1LT Collins attended the Armor Officer Basic Course and the Scout Leader Course at Ft Knox, KY and was subsequently assigned to the 101st Airborne Division at Ft Campbell, KY.
In the fall of 2005, 1LT Collins deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he served as a platoon leader in A Troop, 1-61 CAV. Following this assignment, CPT Collins served on the Squadron staff as the unit’s Adjutant.
In 2007, CPT Collins assumed command of A Troop, 1-61 CAV. Seven months later he deployed his unit to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Throughout the duration of 2008 CPT Collins and his troop conducted combat operations in Paktya Province, Afghanistan operating from COP Zormat. Upon redeployment CPT Collins attended the Maneuver Captains Career Course at Ft Benning, GA, graduating as a member of the commandant’s list.
CPT Collins’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (w/OLC), Meritorious Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NATO Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, Army Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Pathfinder Badge. CPT Collins is married to the former Paige Harvey of Nashville, TN.
