Joe Helewa, who also likes to be known as "the man in our lives" brought his gourmet culinary talents and lively personality to Alpha Phi three years ago. He cooks lunch and dinner five days a week (breakfast is put out for us in the morning), and caters special Alpha Phi events such as Bid Day and New Member Presents. In addition, every year, right before the holiday, Joe prepares an enormous traditional Thanksgiving banquet that draws in so many that people end up sitting on the couches, stairs, and floor. You can often find him sporting one of the fraternity's shirts (given to him by the friends he's made in the fraternities) or his Alpha Phi sweatshirt while humming away happily as he prepares meals. When Joe does get a chance to rest, he's usually chatting and joking around with the girls. As we tell him what's going on in our lives, he also shares parts of his, such as his family (a wife of 29 years and 2 grown children) or his pictures as a young striking Marine in Vietnam.
