Four years ago, the Gamma Alpha chapter got a new advisor. We were lucky enough to be presented with Amy Podratz - an alum of Alpha Phi at CSU Long Beach. There were many changes that needed to happen, and Amy was ready to take on the task. With all of her time and devotion, Amy enabled our chapter to become practically debt free and has also increased the quality of membership of the chapter. With all the time Amy spends at the house, it is unbelievable that she is able to find time for her two other full time obligations: cheer and work. She does everything for us, and we would be nowhere without her.

More than any advisor on campus, Amy is very involved in the well being of our chapter. Being our advisor is a full time job for Amy, which is only supplemental to her own full time occupation and being a cheerleading coach. She is completely devoted to us girls, spending endless hours at the house. Amy is here at least twice a week, not leaving until 11 PM on many occasions. Not everyone may agree with the decisions that she makes, however, she doesn’t make her decisions to be popular, but to keep improving the house. She has a huge heart, and is always looking for ways to do things for other people, never thinking of herself. In the end, everyone appreciates all the time and devotion that Amy puts into the house.
