DeWan Gibson, M.A.As an adjunct faculty member Mr. Gibson teaches two sections of Oral Communication, a course focused on public speaking and the relationship between Africana culture and communication. DeWan Gibson earned a Master of Arts in Communication with an emphasis in Intercultural Communication from San Diego State University. His work on effective communication between medical providers and patients of different cultures has been published in the International Journal of Intercultural Relations. In addition to teaching, Mr. Gibson works as the Director of Health Projects at a large community clinic group in San Diego and Riverside counties that serves 65,000 uninsured and underinsured patients per year. A graduate of Ohio University and San Diego State University, Mr. Gibson enjoys traveling, writing, and following the equities markets. His first book, a humorous memoir of a secret relationship with a Swahili-Arab woman, entitled The Imperfect Enjoyment, will be released in the fall of 2008
