Macintosh Notes
SIMS/R does not run directly on MacOS. Instead it uses special software to access another computer, which is running the SIMS/R software. The special software is from Citrix Systems. Citrix's software allows MacOS to open a window to the Windows NT operating system.
Tips
- Hiding Macintosh Menu - While running Citrix from the File Menu select Best. This will hide the Macintosh menu and give you more screen space. To get the Macintosh menu back either exit out of SIMS/R or hold down the keys control and option.
- If the display seems slow set the display to 640x480 at 256 colors.
Printing Directions
Currently the Macintosh install does not support printing from the Print menu. You can take window shots and print them.
To take a print a window screen shot:
- Set the Caps Lock key, press Apple-Shift-Control-4, then click the window you want to capture. This puts the image of the window in the clipboard.
- Open a word processor, such as Microsoft Word. Select Paste from the Edit menu (or use paste keyboard shortcut).
- Print page from the word processor.
