Institute of Public and Urban Affairs (IPUA)

IPUA is located in the School of Public Affairs. The Institute was established to conduct research in community and governmental affairs and to sponsor conferences, colloquia and symposia related to issues in public administration and other areas including urban planning, management, and criminal justice administration. The Institute also publishes occasional working papers and research monographs. An integral part of the Institute is the Public Affairs Center which is a research facility designed primarily for use by students, faculty, public officials and others with an interest in public affairs. The Center provides a number of tools for the researcher, including a large collection of reports, budgets, and documents of local governments in the San Diego region as well as other California jurisdictions. Journals, texts, general books, and directories in the areas of Public Administration, City Planning, and Criminal Justice are also available in the Center.
