To be admitted to the program, the student should have training equivalent to that required for an undergraduate degree in mathematics or electrical engineering with a strong background in mathematics. Students with degrees in other areas but have strong mathematical backgrounds may also be considered for admission. In addition, all students must satisfy minimum grade and other requirements for admission to the university with classified graduate standing; please refer to the graduate bulletin for information. The graduate bulletin and other information about admission can be found at the Home Page of the Graduate Division.
Students who do not meet the program course requirements for regular admission,
especially students with undergraduate degrees in areas other than
mathematics, may be admitted conditionally provided they meet all
other admission requirements. A conditionally admitted student
will be reclassified to regular status once the deficient
course work are fulfilled satisfactorily. The conditions for
classification to regular status will be stated in the offer of
conditional admission.
