Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

Mission Statement
The mission of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) of San Diego State University is
to be a liaison for student-athletes with the administration and faculty of the University; and to help student-athletes with any concerns they might encounter while attending SDSU. The responsibilities of this Student-Athlete Advisory Committee are:

* To serve as a link between student-athletes and the administration, school, conference,
and the NCAA.
* To organize and participate in community service, special projects, and other events to
enhance the student-athletes' experience at SDSU.
*To promote and enhance school spirit and unity within the Department of Athletics, the
entire school, and the community of SDSU.
* To take an active role in the recognition of an individual student-athlete and team
accomplishments in academics, athletics, and community service.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is an integral component of the AZTEC PRIDE Program.
In accordance with the mission of this student organization, SAAC members work with the
administrators, coaches, and support staff, to enhance each student-athlete's educational
experience by providing personal development, community service and career development
opportunities.

SAAC members meet approximately twice a month to carry out the responsibilities of the committee.
The success of SAAC projects is based on the participation of all student-athletes, especially the
members of the committee; as well as support from the coaches and the athletic department
administration.
