Latin American Studies Coursework
at University of California, San Diego

San Diego State University’s Center for Latin American Studies and the University of California’s Office of Latin American Studies jointly comprise the San Diego Consortium for Latin American Studies. One of the Consortium’s initiatives is to allow LAS students to take classes at either institution. SDSU students are limited only by the general University limitation of nine units from outside the University that may be applied towards degree requirements at SDSU.

UCSD has a number of distinguished faculty and options in Latin American Studies courses that complement courses at SDSU. Students should be aware, however, that UCSD operates on the quarter system and that one quarter unit equals two-thirds of a semester unit.

Students interested in taking courses at UCSD must fill out a form that is available in the Center for Latin American Studies, Arts and Letters 377 or online through the links below.
