The entire SDSU community is invited to this public discussion of US-Mexico relations as represented in the work of playwrights and activists from both sides of the border. Theatre at the Border is a panel discussion that will engage with ideas that are critical to anyone working in the arts or living here in San Diego.

As part of the Theatre at the Border project, panelists will consider the challenges and opportunities presented by the highly charged national and international discussion of immigration and the border — a discussion with strong resonance in San Diego. Playwrights from Mexico City, Tijuana, and San Diego will discuss the impact of border discourses on their work, and the representation of the border and border issues in contemporary Mexican theatre. The discussion will be led by Professor William Nericcio, Chair of SDSU’s Department of Literature.
