Help on Sound

Question 3: This question requires that you listen to sound tracks of 4 crickets. Before doing the cricket problem, you should locate the speaker icon in the bottom right tray and make sure it's not muted (This seems to be the default.) When you click the link for the cricket sound, a new window will open up. On the top, there is a hyperlink that says "Click to Play Sound" that you should click. It will then ask you what program you'd like to open this file with. The default is Windows Media Player so they should just click 'OK.' (If it says Windows Media Player has not been installed, click 'OK' to install with the default settings.) Make sure the volume is turned on in Windows Media Player. Maximize this window and then click the Repeat button 3 to the left of the Play button. It looks like a circle with an arrow at the top. On a few of the laptop computers, clicking the cricket hyperlink just causes the cricket sound to start playing on repeat without opening up Windows Media Player. Many of the computers do NOT have speakers, so you will need to use headphones. It is possible that you will need to share computers that have sound with other students because of the computers that have no sound system installed.
