Jimmy Lynn
Vice President, Partnerships and Strategic Development, AOL Sports
On Wednesday, October 25, 2006, students in San Diego State University's Sports Business Management MBA program were pleased to welcome Jimmy Lynn, Vice President, Partnerships and Strategic Development for AOL Sports.
With AOL since June 1995, Mr. Lynn is responsible for developing and managing the sports content relationships for AOL. Among these relationships have been such partners as the NFL, NBA, NASCAR, MLB, WNBA, and the PGA.
Previously, Mr. Lynn was the Advertising Manager for Home Team Sports, the CBS-owned regional sports network serving the Mid-Atlantic Region (TV partner of the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals) and the Promotion Manager for WLTT-FM, the CBS-owned and operated station in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Lynn is a member of the Time Warner Sports Forum, which includes executives from Sports Illustrated, HBO Sports, Turner Sports, AOL Sports, Time Warner Cable, Time 4 Media and Warner Brothers Licensing. This group focuses on cross-company sports initiatives for Time Warner. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Washington Sports Alliance -- the comprehensive resource for sporting event promotion, sports information and regional collaboration for the Washington, DC metro area.
Active within the community, Mr. Lynn also serves on the Board of Directors of the Hoop Dreams Foundation, which has awarded over 1,000 academic college scholarships and renewals to over 800 inner-city children, and Super Leaders, a comprehensive youth leadership program for at-risk high school students. As an Adjunct Professor, he also teaches Sports Marketing Strategy to students of Georgetown University.
