Vice President, Public Relations & Marketing, Premier Sports Management
On Friday, October 27, 2006, students in San Diego State University's Sports Business Management MBA program were pleased to welcome Steve Caric, Vice President, Public Relations & Marketing for Premier Sports Management.
Mr. Caric develops and executes branding campaigns for Premier’s clients to reach objectives such as vaulting them into the first round of the NFL Draft, getting voted to the Pro Bowl or the NFL Hall of Fame, or launching them into post-football broadcasting careers. He handles crisis communications for Premier’s clients as well, an area in which he has extensive experience. Mr. Caric negotiates marketing deals for Premier’s clients with the nation’s largest and most well known companies, such as Visa, Pepsi, Sprint/Nextel and Sharpie. He also manages day-to-day client efforts, assists with NFL contract research and secures broadcasting jobs for clients upon conclusion of their football career.
Before joining Premier Sports Management, Mr. Caric served as senior account executive in sports marketing for Hill & Knowlton (H&K), the world’s largest PR firm. While at H&K, he created and implemented successful PR/marketing campaigns and events for some of the most prominent companies in the U.S., including Ford, Allstate, TaylorMade-adidas Golf, and DIRECTV. These efforts included the first on-ice reunion of the 1980 USA Olympic hockey team at the 2002 NHL All-Star game; the launch of the TaylorMade 300 series driver, which subsequently became the top driver on the PGA Tour; and media relations for a group of cancer survivors attempting to be the first all-women team to scale Mt. Everest in support of Ford’s “No Boundaries” campaign.
Mr. Caric graduated from San Diego State University and is currently a member of SDSU’s Sports Business Management MBA Program advisory board.
