Dr. Mitch Kaneda
Associate Dean of the School of Foreign Service and a professor of International Trade at Georgetown University

On November 4, 2005, students in the SDSU Sports Business Management MBA program heard a guest lecture from Dr. Mitch Kaneda, Associate Dean of the School of Foreign Service and a professor of International Trade at Georgetown University.

Dr. Kaneda presented a lecture on some recent research related to baseball economics that included discussions of the effect of total payroll and salary inequality on team winning percentage, a study of the impact of free agency on home runs and strikeouts using the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index, and statistical studies of .400 hitting and racial diversity in Major League Baseball.

San Diego State University's Sports Business Management program would like to thank Dr. Kaneda for spending the afternoon with the MBA candidates and sharing his research and expertise with the class.
