SAN DIEGO (March 24, 2008) - The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) announced today assistant management professor, Dr. Martina Musteen, has been named the recipient of the Olympus 2008 Emerging Educational Leader Award. Musteen recently accepted the award at the 12th Annual Meeting of the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA) held in Dallas, Texas on March 21, 2008.
Now in its fourth year, the Olympus Innovation Award Program recognizes individuals who have demonstrated innovative thinking in higher education.
Musteen was recognized for her dynamic teaching approach and her motivational classroom style for students studying global entrepreneurship. She is credited with developing the very popular international entrepreneurship course that she currently teaches at SDSU and she has been instrumental in paving the way for those students seeking work to become global entrepreneurs.
“To be honored for doing something that I love to do is incredibly gratifying,” said Musteen, who was nominated for the award by one of her students. “More and more, we are seeing that entrepreneurship can contribute to solving global problems – poverty and climate change, for example – so my objective with every lesson plan is to inspire students to make a positive difference in the world through their entrepreneurial activities.”
