Bryan Lubic
Bryan is thrilled to return to his roots at San Diego State University, where he earned his undergraduate degrees in English and philosophy ('97) and his master's degree in communication ('02) and served as the program advisor for service learning at SDSU before earning his law degree from California Western School of Law ('06).
"I enjoyed the challenges and perspectives of law school and my legal experiences, where I used the skills I learned at SDSU to successfully advocate for my clients and collaborate with my colleagues." Soon enough, though, he started to miss the vibrance and energy of working on campus, where "each and every day is an opportunity to create amazing possibilities for students and community members."
Bryan has worked with faculty, staff and students on a wide range of projects, and his experience at each of those levels - he's been a student, staff member and faculty member - helps him connect people and projects. "Success at SDSU requires creative collaboration, which is why I love working on campus. Working together, in a variety of situations and with any number of challenges, we prepare ourselves and our students every day to be the leaders of tomorrow."
When he he's not at SDSU, you'll find Bryan enjoying time with his wonderful wife Leah, beautiful 12-week-old daughter Sophie, and two playful dogs, Casey and Romeo. You may see them out and about walking on campus on the weekends. He also enjoys home improvement projects, reading, gardening and perusing the shelves at bookstores.
Suzanne Finch
Suzanne Finch recently joined the College of Business Administration as the chief communications officer. She is responsible for all CBA publications, events, public relations, web content and other communications.
Finch comes to CBA from the CCAT Program, located at the San Diego State University Research Foundation. While with CCAT, she was in the role as director of marketing and public relations. She earned her B.A. in journalism from Iowa State University.
She enjoys traveling, having visited over 20 different countries and all 50 states. Finch is also an avid San Diego Charger football fan, having been a season ticket holder for the past 11 seasons. She has also stayed busy as a volunteer at Planned Parenthood for the past 20 years.
Traci Rathfon
Traci Rathfon is a loving mother and wife to daughter Kaiden and husband Steve. She has lived in San Diego’s East County most of her life. She likes to spend as much time as she can at the beach or on the water with her family. Traci also loves to play soccer and has been playing since she was 4 years old. Traci says “I am a very active person and always on the go.”
She has been working at SDSU in the Accounts Payable Department since May of 2005. Since she has a lot of family that works at SDSU, she was happy to finally join them here on campus. Prior to working at SDSU, Traci worked for a small business in downtown San Diego for five years doing accounts payable and payroll for nursing facilities.
Traci looks forward to joining the team of CBA and hopes to gain a lot of great friendships.
Lorraine Ulanicki
Lorraine received her B.S. degree in Nutrition, and in 1999, began working for SDSU Foundation at the Center for Eating and Weight Disorders. There she helped support a 5-year long study on childhood obesity.
From this position, she came to the Division of Undergraduate Studies in 2000 to work for the Center for Teaching and Learning, to support Dean Geoffrey Chase in 2003-2005 and pICT (People, Information and Communication Technologies) which started from Dean Geoffrey Chases’ work on the Qualcomm Institute for Innovation and Educational Success. In these positions, Lorraine managed, organized and coordinated the clerical and budgetary operations of the Center, as well as developed workshops and conferences for faculty on campus.
Currently, Lorraine supports the Executive and Specialized Programs as their Project and Event Coordinator. She is responsible for planning and coordinating special events including information sessions, new cohort orientations, graduations, international trips and alumni events.
Lorraine is married with one daughter who is now 16 years old. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, quad riding in the desert, world traveling, watching a good movie, and caring for her animals at home.
Patricia van Damme
An educator, a leader, a daughter and a mother, Patricia van Damme takes pride in her work with students describing the experience as if reading a “live” book where she gets to be one of the characters, helping shape the next chapter in the author’s life. She has been a member of the San Diego State University Community since 1998 where she worked as an Administrative Assistant at the American Language Institute. She has, since than, become the Director of Academic Programs for the International Business major, one of the largest programs of it’s kind in the nation. Born and raised in Brazil, she grew up in an environment where 5 languages were necessary for her family to communicate. She has a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology where she developed the passion and the skills for working with people. She learned the business traits from her father and the family values from her mother. A true believer and supporter of global education, she looks forward to applying her knowledge and skills to strengthen and grow the Executive and Specialized programs at the College of Business Administration.
