Sharon Lightner
Dr. Sharon Lightner, the director of SDSU’s School of Accountancy, has been elected to the national board of directors for Beta Alpha Psi.
Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization whose primary objective is to provide recognition to students and professionals who have achieved scholastic and professional excellence in the fields of accounting, finance, and information systems.
Lightner was elected to serve as director-at-large for the western and northwest region to the organization and will begin a three-year term starting Aug. 1, 2008. Previously, she served as a faculty advisor to SDSU’s Beta Alpha Psi chapter from 1985-1990 and 1992-2006 for which she had received national recognition for her outstanding service.
