SDSU Participates in Environmental Marketing Competition

Ten SDSU undergraduate students are currently participating in the national “Green Means Go” advertising campaign competition sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA). The campaign is designed to encourage the use of public transportation among people ages 18 – 25.
As part of their Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) class, the students undertaking this project will act as an advertising agency to develop and deliver a comprehensive IMC plan for the APTA.
Each team is given a fictional budget of $500,000 and the plan must include:
1. Three radio scripts of various lengths
2. Story board for one 30-second TV commercial
3. Video to be posted online
4. Print ads
5. Public relations strategy outline
6. Branding samples
The SDSU students will present their plans to an APTA representative in San Diego on May 7 and, if chosen to advance, will provide a second presentation to the senior management of APTA in Washington, D.C. The winner of the campaign will be named near the end of May by staff members of the APTA and EdVenture Partners, facilitator of the “Green Means Go” promotion.
