MBA Program

Our MBA program is designed to prepare managers for the 21st century. You will learn the analytical, leadership, and communication skills you need for a career in management. The MBA degree is a cohort-based program with a strong foundation in all of the functional areas of business. Students are then given the opportunity to customize their education by developing a specialization in one of the areas listed on the right.

The cohort system is designed to take advantage of the latest developments in team-based learning. Students are admitted to the program as part of a group of 45 students. This group takes all core courses together and performs many of the class assignments in teams. Students are admitted to the full-time program (generally 4 courses per semester) or part-time program (generally 2 evening courses per semester).

In addition to building a strong foundation in the core areas of business, students must take one class in each of two themes: Corporate Responsibility and the Management of Technology in Business.

Students in the MBA program also have the opportunity to study abroad during the summer, to take a paid internship position, and to participate in the SDSU Team Consulting Program - a unique opportunity to perform a significant consulting project for a San Diego organization as part of a team of MBA students.
