Xudong An, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Finance
Xudong An is Assistant Professor of Finance in the College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU). Dr. An's research mainly focuses on mortgage default risk, structured finance and housing market dynamics. Examples of his research topics are: theoretical and empirical models for commercial mortgage credit risk, risk partitioning and subordination in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), subprime mortgage lending, real estate capitalization rate, and housing indicators. Xudong's research papers on mortgage prepayment and default risks, and Fannie Mae's and Freddie Mac's roles in US mortgage and housing markets have been published in academic journals such as Real Estate Economics, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics and Brookings-Wharton Papers on Urban Affairs.
Dr. An teaches real estate finance and real estate principles classes at SDSU. He also taught microeconomics and real estate finance at the University of Southern California (USC), where he obtained his Ph.D. under the supervision of Yongheng Deng, Raphael Bostic, Stuart Gabriel, Fernando Zapatero and Chris Jones. Prior to coming to the United States, he got his bachelor's and master's degrees in China and worked for a real estate consulting firm. |
