ELIGIBILITY
Who May Attend
- Workshops are open to all SDSU faculty.
- Workshops are open to all SDSU staff
with approval of your supervisor. If you are Foundation
staff, please email training@foundation.sdsu.edu
or call SDSU Foundation Training Reservations at (619) 594-0976
to make a reservation for BATS workshops.
- Workshops are open to all currently enrolled
SDSU students.
Computer Skills and Knowledge
- You need to be able to effectively use
a mouse to navigate the computer. If you have never used
a mouse, please call Carol Tohsaku at
(619) 594-2203. We will arrange some time
with an instructor to provide you training and practice
using a mouse.
- All pre-requisite workshops must be completed
prior to registration for upper level (intermediate and
advanced) workshops. Or if you already know the material
covered in the lower level workshops, you may enroll in
upper level workshops. If this is the case, please call
our BATS coordinator at 4-2203 to discuss your experience
and receive approval to skip our introductory workshops.
- You should practice and master the concepts
presented in the beginning workshop before you can enroll
in a more advanced workshop.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
Pre-Registration
- SDSU faculty and staff may register for
all workshops through the BATS web site (http://its.sdsu.edu/~bats/register/).
If you do not have access to the Internet, please call Carol
Tohsaku at (619) 594-2203, and she will enroll you in the
desired workshops.
- If you work for the Foundation, please
call SDSU Foundation Training Reservations at (619) 594-0976
or e-mail training@foundation.sdsu.edu
with your name, e-mail address, phone numbers, and the date
and time of the workshop. representative will take your
registration information.
- Confirmation/Reminder notices will be
sent to you via e-mail two days prior to workshop. If you
do not receive a notice, you most likely are not registered
for the workshop. This could happen because the workshop
was full or because you have not completed the pre-requisite
course work.
- If you have been denied admittance to
a workshop, you may call Carol Tohsaku at (619) 594-2203
to discuss the reason for the denial.
Cancellation
- If you are unable to attend a scheduled
workshop, please call or e-mail Carol Tohsaku to cancel
your attendance at (619) 594-2203 or ctohsaku@mail.sdsu.edu.
By canceling, you will free up a seat for another individual
who may be on the waiting list for the workshop.
Miscellaneous
- You may register for, and attend each
workshop as many times as you desire.
CLASSROOM POLICIES
Prior to the Start of the Workshop
- Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the
scheduled workshop so you can be checked in and seated.

begun, you will find that the classroom door has been closed
and locked because past participants complained that late
arrivals disrupt workshops. PLEASE DO NOT KNOCK on the door,
as late arrivals will not be allowed into the workshop.
- If you are on the Waiting List for a
workshop that is full, you may show up for the workshop,
and if there are vacant seats available when the workshop
begins, you will be seated in the order in which you registered
for the workshop.
- If you have not registered for a workshop,
you may show up for the workshop, and if there are vacant
seats available after all people on the Waiting List have
been seated, you will be seated in the order of your arrival.
