STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

The CHARLES WEI-HSUN FU FOUNDATION offers a $1000 scholarship each year for qualified SDSU students working in the area of Asian Thought and Culture, in conjunction with Phi Beta Delta, an Honor Society for International Scholars. Applications are due Monday, November 1st. For further information click the link below:

An awards ceremony is held every December, in conjunction with the Annual Installation of new members to PBD

THE CHARLES WEI-HSUN FU SCHOLARSHIP IN CHINESE THOUGHT AND CULTURE

begining in Fall, 2005 in cooperation with the SDSU College of Arts & Letters and the China Studies Institute

SELECTION CRITERIA

--The scholarship will be open to any student in good standing at SDSU, Graduate or undergraduate, pursuing a program of study focusing on Chinese Thought and Culture.
--The award will be based on the awardee's record of academic excellence, with a minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0.
--Demonstration of financial need as defined by the SDSU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will be taken into consideration.
--Preference will be given to applicants who are engaged in Taiwan studies, Chinese philosophy and religion, Chinese culture and language, as well as applicants from the College of Arts and Letters.
--If no suitable candidate is found in a given year, no award will be granted
.


THE TAIWAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

There are EIGHT scholarships available, each with 6 months scholarship
during Sept. 2005 to Aug. 2006. The awards are open to all the applicants.
DEADLINE: March 28
